About

Dr. Em Claire Knowles retired at the end of June 2020, after an extraordinary 45-year career. This is an ideal time to recognize a lifetime spent advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion through service to the library community and to Simmons University.

We are recognizing Dr. Knowles’s retirement by establishing a scholarship in her name to benefit the next generation of SLIS leaders as they complete their Simmons degrees.

We are seeking to raise $20,000 to launch the Dr. Em Claire Knowles ‘88DA, ‘07E Scholarship.
